IMPORTANT After every settings change you make remember to Click 'OK' then 'Save'

The following example is for use on a Humax 5400
and we will use a Polsat channel to start with.
Once you have unzipped Emulatorek and started it
you will be confronted with the following main screen.

These are the correct settings for use on a Humax 5400
To change update settings click the Prefs Button then ComPrefs
You will then get access to the com settings screen shot below
(com port settings may vary depending on your computers requirements)
The correct ATR & Baud Rate settings for use on the Humax 5400
Embedded Irdeto Cam should be 9600 for both the ATR & Baud Rate.

If your using Emulatorek with a Joker Cam the settings are simular
with the exception of the ATR & Baud Rates which should be set to
04800 on each account, to do this set the ATR & BAUD Rate options
to 'Custom' then in at the bottom of the screen set both the
ATR & Baud Rate windows to 04800 (see screen shot below) then save
the changes you have made. Conax is not accessible with the Joker Cam

Using Emulatorek to access Nagravision channels on Hispasat 30west
I found that if you start Emulatorek in Nagravision mode with
the season card already inserted in the Joker Cam then switch on
the Humax receiver Emulatorek seemed to start with out any problem

To access this screen just click Prefs on the main Emulatorek screen
As in this example we are using the Nagravision Encryption select/highlight
Nagra Auto-up, Emulatorek will then know the Encryption you wish to use.
Dont forget to save your selection, otherwise it will not function correctly.

For a quick start it will help if the Keys for Polsat are correct.
To update/Add new keys do the following, assuming Key 00 requires
updating all you need do is click prefs then the Nagra Button
(the one with the green tick on it) highlight Key 00 and then
enter the new key once your satisfied you entered the Key correctly
click ok then save.

Assuming you have set all the parameters correctly
you are now ready to start Emulatorek click the
Start Button you will notice it changes
colour to Yellow when Running, you also get the Comport open message.

We will start on a Polsat Channel encrypted in Nagravision.
If we get a bad log its usualy because we started the Humax 5400 before
starting Emulatorek (I find this is the prime cause of most problems)
and with the season Interface card already inserted in the receivers cam slot.
If you do get this type of Log see screen shot below then Emulatorek
is not running correctly. Remember to select a Polsat channel before hand.

Another  reason you may be getting the same problem is because you selected/highlighted
one type of encryption but are trying to access another, example if you selected Nagra but are trying to view Conax you will also get this problem, the channel you wish to access must be using the same encryption as the one you selected/highlightet in this case Nagra, with the exception of Irdeto which is the default for Emulatorek,and is accessible on any encryption you selected.

To correct the error simply do one the following:
1 Click 0 then RCL on your Humax remote control
2 Remove and reinsert season interface card from the cam.
I find the second option to work best for me, but try both
as the first option may be better for others.
Once you have done the above Emulatorek should then start
running correctly. see screen shot below if you get a simular
log then all should be okay.

3 If neither of the above options work for you close down
Emulatorek, but leave the Humax running, remove the
season interface card from the receivers com port, then start Emulatorek
and reinsert the season interface card back into the receivers cam slot.

Once you get the above (sig ok) then all should be perfectly set
If you get 'sig ok' but no picture, just remove and reinsert season card, and that should correct it.

If you encounter this error message do the following:
Unable to open comport (win error code 5)
Press (Ctl Alt & Delete) then select "Processes"
on the tab then select Emulatorek.exe and
Click "End Process" that will close the Programme
and free the com port, you can now run Emulatorek,
if you do not have Emulatorek running, then select
the programme that is currently using the specified
com port and close it, by clicking "End Process"
this will then free the com port and you can now run
the Emulatorek programme without any problems.

Depending on your Humax's firmware and selected CAID
some set-ups may not require pre-selecting an encryption they
wish to access before hand and will experiance no problems
with auto-selecting between all encryption types
While others may encounter auto-selecting problems and will therefore
be required to pre-select the encryption you wish to access before hand.

Emulatorek Auto-Selecting between Encryptions on a Humax 5400
On your Humax 5400 it may pay you to try altering the CAID Preselect option.
Press the 'Menu' button on your Humax 5400 Remote Control then select the
ToH option press 'OK' select 'config' press 'OK' then select the bottom option
'CAID Preselect' and try the following by press ing the right & left arrow keys:
Option 1 = Card
Option 2 = Cas 1
Option 3 = Cas 2
These are the main ones you should play around with. You can ignore the Cas 3 - 6 Options.
Try them Until you find the best 'CAID Preselect' that works for you, and keep it.

--- Please Note ---
One problem I have found is, when using either of the Cass option Polsat
do not always Auto-update, but Auto-updates okay when using the Card option.

All the above have been tried and tested using Emulatorek 10a and a Humax 5400 (ToH 3.1)
