Setting up a motorised dish on your
Vantage X221 TS CI
When you first switch your Vantage X221 TS
CI on
this is the screen you will be confronted with you will
also here an audio jingle, alerting you that the receiver is 'ON'
After selecting your prefered language click 'OK'

Now select the Satellite option and click 'OK'

next select 'Antenna Settings'

Here you can set as many satellites as you
wish,
but for for this example we will only be using Astra

Don't fotget to select the correct motor
type for your set-up.
If you are using a V-Box, then you must select the
Positioner option,
and not the DiSEqC 1.2 option, for it to function correctly.

next select 'Motor Settings'

Here we can move the Dish, & then fine
tune it to a spacific transponder.
A rather nice touch, is the fact that when a satellite signal is detected,
the receiver responds with a little audio jingle, I realy appreciate that feature.
also once a satellite signal is detected, it also displays the name of the satellite
or channel provider, in the top left hand box, which is another helpfull feature.
To access the East / West traverse button options, click the
'Yellow' button.

So once you get a respectable signal leval, we can do then do an 'Auto Scan'

You can now scan as many sats as you have
set-up,
in our case it's just one satellite 'Astra'
You can also set the type of scan you wish to perform.

once you start the scan, the dish will
display the message 'Go to Satellite'
even if the dish is already pointing at the correct satellite,
the message will still be displayed unless you have entered an active transponder.
if no active transponder is detected, then the scan may take upto 45 seconds to start.

Icons that are displayed next to a
channels name
informs us that the channel is encrypted.
if no icon is displayed then that channel is FTA.

Now to do a 'Blind Scan' so select the
'Blind Scanning' option

select the satellite you wish to do a
'Blind Scan' on

select the type of 'Blind Scan' this will
range from 4mhz to 1mhz steps

Icons that are displayed next to a
channels name
informs us that the channel is encrypted.
if no icon is displayed then that channel is FTA.

Once the scan is complete an info box will
pop up giving you details of the scan

All you have to do now is select which
channel you wish to view.
